The British School in the Netherlands holds an annual 'Performing Arts Week', where we put on a wide array of performances and concerts around our 4 campuses in order to raise money for a charity (including staff and student busking around the schools). This year we have chosen UNICEF for its wide reach as a charity (defending the rights of children in 190 countries around the world), but particularly for the excellent work it is doing in war torn countries like Syria. There are an estimated 5.8 million Syrian children in need and we are hoping the money we raise will go towards supporting children who are currently living in one of the most dangerous places in the world, dealing with unimaginably dire conditions on a daily basis.
